In our earlier “Spend vs. Splurge: 2014 Edition” post, we shared that full, pleated skirts would be a major trend this spring. Not surprisingly, it’s one trend that I couldn’t resist.
I picked this little navy number up on sale at J.Crew a few weeks back. The understated navy hue is perfect for the office, and helps to keep the inherent girliness of the pleats to a respectable level.
The key to this season’s modern take on the pleated skirt is slim, accordion-style pleats, and a hemline that either skims the knees or hits a bit below them -- nothing too short.
I can’t wait to wear this skirt during the weekend with a graphic tee and flats . . . and maybe even a pair of preppy sneakers :)
