Hi friends! Here’s a quick rundown of the beauty products, fashion finds, and other various awesomeness I’ve been digging lately. In no particular order:
The second I saw those adorable little sequined eyes staring up at me, I knew I needed this in my closet. The sweater itself is also very soft (particularly for such a low price), and the short sleevess make it a great transitional layering item as the seasons shift.
Meet my new go-to fall nail color. I’m obsessed with this sophisticated shade -- this rich, deep cherry red is just the right amount of vampy.
I’d been searching for the literary adrenaline rush of Gone Girl since, well, Gone Girl. I’d heard quite a bit of chatter about The Girl on the Train, and decided to purchase the audiobook for my recent trip to Italy. The novel more than lived up to the hype -- it’s a twisty, turny, deliciously dark and incredibly addictive mystery. The spot-on audiobook performances turn the book into an even more immersive experience. Give this one a read (or a listen) before the movie drops -- Emily Blunt, Jared Leto and Justin Theroux have already signed on for this blockbuster-to-be.
Clinique has been my foundation brand of choice since high school, and this may be my favorite formula yet. At first I was a bit concerned that the whole “foundation + concealer” thing would make for an uncomfortably heavy coverage for everyday use. But it isn’t -- it’s a buildable formula, creating a flawless but natural foundation finish. The packaging takes of bit of getting used to, thanks to that little wand. I usually draw a few stripes across my forehead and cheeks, and one line down my nose and chin, and use my Tarte Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush to buff and blend the product. Then, if I have any spots requiring extra concealing, I apply one more dab of the product to the spot, and dab it in with my ring finger -- no separate concealer product required.
I cancelled my gym membership a few months back. Instead, I’m using a combination of the cardio equipment in my apartment complex, runs around my neighborhood, hot yoga classes, and workout videos courtesy of XHIT Daily. There are numerous cardio and spot-workout options, and many 5-minute and 10-minute videos that help me squeeze in a bit of fitness before my workday. The instructors have a positive, fun and relatable energy that makes these videos addictive. The videos also often have great themes, like “How to Burn Off a Starbucks Frappuccino in 5 Minutes” and “The Beyonce Butt Workout.”
