My 2016 Holiday Party Look (and a YouTube Fail)

Kristen Berry

Guys, I had big plans for you today. I filmed a get-ready-with-me video on Saturday while I primped for MK’s holiday party. It included a tutorial featuring the new Too Faced Le Grand Chateau holiday gift set. Wham’s “Last Christmas” was prepped for the soundtrack (apparently that’s OK from a copyright perspective according to YouTube). It was going to be amazing. It was going to be epic. But apparently it was also too damn long, because my MacBook Air proved incapable of handling all the awesome.

So instead you’re getting this blog post. But look at how excited I was!

Anyway, MK and I were each other’s plus-ones at our company holiday parties this year. If your significant other isn’t available, you’re currently riding solo or you think the whole thing would just be more fun with your bestie, I highly recommend bringing a BFF to your holiday party.

If you saw my recent Winter Color post or follow Faux Fancy on Instagram, you probably know how enamored I am with the Le Grand Chateau set from Too Faced, a sweet birthday present from my mom. The set includes three gorgeous eye and cheek palettes and a sample of their Better Than Sex mascara. There’s a beautiful variety of matte and shimmery eyeshadow shades. They’re incredibly creamy and blendable, and have a fantastic color payoff. The “Paris Au Naturale” palette looked perfect for the sparkly smokey eye I had in mind for the party. And it was.

Here’s how I applied the shadows. Though when it came to mascara, I had to go back to my current fave, Maybelline’s Lash Sensational.

For wardrobe, I opted for a red cocktail number I snagged at H&M a year or so ago, and gold accessories. if you can’t wear a little red dress at Christmas, when can you?

How did you rock your holiday party look this year?
