Shopping the designer collaborations at Target can often be a stressful undertaking. MK and I decided to be at the store right when the doors opened for the unveiling of the 3.1 Phillip Lim collection in 2013. There were only a handful of other people waiting with us when we were allowed to enter, but they sprinted toward the selection like a scene from Supermarket Sweep, flinging armfuls of clothes into their carts, likely to only sell them on eBay later. And anyone who has tried to shop the collections online knows what a digital bloodbath that can be.
So I was surprised when I casually strolled into Target following a yoga class several hours after the Who What Wear collection arrived and found the racks fully stocked and painstakingly organized. Especially because while Who What Wear might not be as well known a name as Missoni (and though this is the multi-media fashion brand’s first fashion line), the clothes were all incredibly chic.
These two pieces spoke to me in particular. I love the cheerful watercolor-style polka dots on the top, and the graphic print of the skirt. The long, lean skirt also fits in with my current goal of shaking up the proportions in my wardrobe. The separates are incredibly versatile, and will totally work throughout the rest of the winter and well into spring.
Something about the fresh, graphic nature of the prints made me crave a graphic, smokey eye to accompany them. I used my trusty Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette to create this look.
